[Update/Maj] The script is now released and available here. Le script est fini et dispo ici

Lately i’ve been developing a little script for a project i’ve been working on, and now i’m enhancing it before releasing it to you guys. The script is called sParticular, and what it does is quite simple, but time saving.

If you are a Particular user, you know that this great plugin is 3D aware, but that it does not intersect with your 3D layers (you can select an obscuration layer, but it doesn’t work really well). sParticular will make your Particular particules intersect with your 3D layers.

The script is still in beta, and I hope to release it in the upcomming weeks. It will be a free of charge. But meanwhile, i’m looking for some beta testers to help me debug, and enhance the script.

If you are interested and if you have Particular plugin, be sure to drop me a message via the contact form of the site.

Seeing that only 5000 people downloaded the additional scripts for After Effects CS4, I wondered why people wouldn’t care for such great additional content. Seeing that so much people are still asking online for a way to change shortcuts inside AE made me wonders. How can it be that so many people are just not aware of scripts ? Are they affraid that it’s just « too comlicated»  ?

If you are not using scripts yet, or if you’ve just heard about them, then fear not. Scripts doesn’t require you much more than downloading them, and moving them into the right folders (see below on how to install scripts).

Scripts are my everyday savers, and thanks to them (and to the people who made them), i’ve been able to push my AE workflow a step further. I even started to develop some for my very specific needs, that I plan to release one day.

But for now, i’ve compiled my Top 10 list of scripts. This list is not saying that a script is better than another. This is list doesn’t even lists some really great scripts. No, this list is just the list of the scripts I use the most on a project basis. So if your favorite script is not here, it doesn’t mean i don’t like it, or that i think that it’s a useless one. And now, it’s time for me to unveil my list… Read More (+ inclus une version française)

David Torno, a great motion designer, and author of 2 brilliant face replacement tutorials (Part 1 | Part 2) just posted on the AE Enhancer forum a nice little script.

It allows you to create a solid, and the script will place it under the selected layer, and it will trim it’s in/out point accordingly with it.
